The position of Student Representative on University Council was separated by the University into two positions: Undergraduate Representative and Graduate Representative. Elections were held for both positions in May and October 2026, separate from the UMSU annual election.

The election for Undergraduate Representative was held in May, and was contested by Community and Activate. Community's candidate was incumbent General Secretary Daniel Motika, who ran against Activate convener Mathilda Stewart, along with many other minor candidates. Motika won the election, becoming the first Undergraduate Representative on the University Council.

An election was held in October for the Graduate Representative, with incumbent Student Representative and former UMSU General Secretary Kevin Li running for a second term on University Council. Li ran against a crowded field of candidates, including GSA General Secretary Cindy Wong, and other politically influential figures. In a drastically different political environment, Li narrowly won re-election against Wong.
