Tears fall hardest
when fattened with well-kept sorrow.
Like how clouds rain
when they're heavily greyed,
like how petals fall
when they're long browned.
Clouds are caressed
and pushed gently to dispersion
by warm summer winds.
Petals nurture the earth,
adding their faded colours;
a growing richness
for new seedlings.
Tears can be wiped away
once sorrow is broken free,
and the heart is unclenched.
The past falls away further,
and further,
and further,
until it's gone.
