I say that I’m the coldest in the room– 
the one who feels the least 
– but every time you stumble in 
I thaw out piece by piece.

This feeling of defrosting 
is nothing short of pain.
I see my insides out–
yet long for it again.

I’m like the damned ice caps
the way I’m warming up to you.
