Careers in Commerce will be a cross-society panel, networking, and informational event led by a coalition of University of Melbourne commerce societies. The event is designed to highlight every major and study pathway offered within the Bachelor of Commerce, giving students an understanding of careers each discipline can lead to.

Targeted primarily at first-years, but open to all exploring students, Careers in Commerce aims to bridge the gap between academic majors and real-world career trajectories. By creating a curated speaker panel and an open networking session, attendees will hopefully gain clarity on:

  • The types of roles and industries each BCom pathway leads to

  • The skills, experiences, and subject planning required for success

  • How students can make informed, confident decisions about their academic direction

By bringing together student societies and industry representatives, the event creates a collaborative environment where learning and career discovery thrive. Ultimately, Careers in Commerce will empower students to choose the major that aligns with their interests, strengths, and long-term aspirations.
