Join artist Badra Aji, a contemporary visual artist based in Naarm, to explore the foundations of observational drawing in this mindfulness-focused workshop. Drawing on his background as a yoga instructor, Badra integrates mindfulness principles with creative practice, offering a unique approach to connecting presence and observation. Through guided exercises, participants will learn to slow down, focus on the act of seeing, and translate their observations into expressive marks. Open to all skill levels, this workshop invites you to experience drawing as a meditative and grounding practice.

WHEN: Wednesday 12 March, 1-3PM

WHERE: Meet at the Arts Lab, Level 1, Arts and Cultural Building, Monash Road, Building 159 (MAP), next to the George Paton Gallery.

Badra Aji graduated from the VCA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Printmaking in 2016 and has been actively exhibiting since. His practice weaves personal and collective memory into poetic semi-narratives through drawing, painting, video, and photography.
