George Paton Gallery x MPavilion Parkville 2026 

An exciting opportunity for a University of Melbourne students to work with the George Paton Gallery team as a student producer for a presentation of new works at MPavilion Parkville.  

Presentation Dates: 19-21 May 2026 

About the Project.

The annual GPG × MPavilion Parkville collaboration is developed across three artist-led workshops held within the Arts & Cultural Building, culminating in public performance activations at the MPavilion Parkville site. In 2026, the program is led by artist Laura Banfield, whose practice engages matter and movement.  
 
About the Role. 

The Student Producer supports the planning and delivery of this project, providing practical and logistical assistance across the workshop phase and public presentation. This project will unfold as a professional mentorship opportunity, and a great way to build and develop emerging producer skills!

Time Commitment  

Working closely with the Arts Programs team and Laura Banfield, the Student Producer work with us for approximately three hours each week, from the 30th of March in addition to attending three workshops (2 hours each ) and maintaining an occasional presence during the Pavilion presentation. 

Remuneration   

Contractor Fee is $1000 plus 12% superannuation.

Please use the subject heading “Student Producer EOI” with and include a cover letter addressing the Your Experience (maximum one A4 page) and a CV. Expressions of Interest should be emailed as a single document (doc or pdf) to gpg@union.unimelb.edu.au by Thursday 26 March 5:00 PM AEST.  

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview the following week to be held either online or in the George Paton Gallery, BN 159 Arts & Cultural, Monash Rd, University of Melbourne, 3010.
