dimeback reflects on the thought process of a walk home in the dark. The consistent rhythm is employed to mimic rhythmic footsteps, rhythmic breathing and a rhythmic heartbeat. The use of imagery to convey sound – the sound of keys, the sound of quick breaths, the sound of rings – seeks to reflect the heightening of senses, especially in the dark. Ultimately, the piece reflects the reality that an easy walk home in the dark is one of the most difficult things to do.
