Claw at me

Silver cobwebs spin by

In the sun,
That bleeding, insatiable flame
These colours are so deep they stick to shadows
Of the pants, the shirts, the socks
But nothing bares its teeth like
The sky’s unflinching blue
Every time I raise my head
It threatens to consume me
Swallow me whole
Siphoning off my soul
And the colours
Silver, green, gold, all
Sliding into one snow clean scroll;
The sky, a lacquered screen
Forever watching
