In 2025 fast fashion is OUT, but eco-conscious crafting and upcycling is IN! So to give you all the tips and tricks you could need to unlock your inner green creative, join Fast Fashun, UMSU Enviro and Creative Arts for a day of sustainable fashion and collaborative crafting. 🌏

Come along to one of the many workshops to learn about fashion waste, how to mend and upcycle your clothes, own your self expression and get more involved in climate action. Be sure to also stick around to eat gelato while watching a fashion show Greta Thunberg would approve of. We encourage you to outfit repeat one of your favourite fits or wear something you've crafted or thrifted! 👕👜

Block Party Program

11am - 3pm Garment Making Time
Fast Fashun is an interactive event where you can become a fashion designer, a maker, or a model while connecting with new friends and working together. At its heart is a giant pile of clothing waste and multiple "making stations" for crafting unique looks. Rummage through discarded clothing, team up with others, and use simple tools like safety pins or sewing machines to bring your designs to life. Every hour, these creations hit the runway in a vibrant fashion show, celebrating creativity, community, and sustainability with students leading the way. P.S don’t worry if using a sewing machine is not your forte, there will be plenty of helpers around. 

11am - 3pm Modelling Workshops
Creative Arts will be running modelling workshops for you to learn how to strut your fabulous designs on the runway! Everyone gets their start somewhere, and maybe this is yours.

11am - 3pm Fast Fashun Runways
Come and witness the beuty of frantic creation! Designs ranging from trendy to tragic will be gracing the pre-loved red carpet as students show off what they've made. Runways will be running at 12pm, 1pm, 3pm, and 4pm.
