SAS 2025 AGM

The Soccer Appreciation Society has invited you to our Annual General Meeting (AGM). At the AGM you will have your chance to run for a position on the club committee, vote for next year's committee, ask questions of the current committee to see what they've been up to and give suggestions for things the club can do in the future.

The agenda with all the activities that are occurring can be found attached along with the constitution which lists all the committee positions available.

Positions open for election:
- President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Insurance Liability Officer
- 3 Non-Executive Member roles

Why participate in the AGM?

Note that only current University of Melbourne students can join the AGM. 2024-2025 has been an amazing breakthrough since the end of the lockdown, maintaining our weekly sessions without a break. We hope that in 2025-2026, we can still stay on the pitch safely and soundly. However, the club won't be here next year to have weekly games without your support! So, please exercise your right as a member and vote for next year's committee members, for us to function in 2025-2026 and have another year of fun times ahead for our club, hopefully playing football.

Why would you want to volunteer for these positions?

These roles in running a club of a couple of hundred members are a great addition to both academic scholarships and job applications. These roles show prospective employers that you are a competent accountant and team player who can be trusted to handle money prudently and organise large groups of people. They also show academic supervisors that you are a collaborative and multi-faceted member of the school's community. And of course, do it if you love the club and want to see it going on for a long time. This is a club where many friends have been made through its weekly activities, and to see it go on would be great.
